We have developed innovative products and acquired patents. As a result, the key product groups such as the lysine, nucleic acid, and threonine were selected as the world's top products by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy in early 2000.
And the L-threonine production technology developed using microbial genomics was selected as "Korea's Top Ten New Technologies in 2002". Moreover, the patented L-methionine production process using the world's first eco-friendly fermentation technology won the "Jang Young-sil Award" sponsored by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future in 2015.
As a result of accumulating the technology in the sustainable, eco-friendly bio business, CJ CheilJedang became the first Korean company to be recognized as an excellent model for the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015. Its practices have been introduced at international conferences such as the UN High-level Policy Forum.

Since the establishment of the Feed R&D Center in 1987, the Feed Business Unit has striven to provide high-efficiency feed products and scientific breeding technologies to livestock farmers and supply safe livestock products to consumers. Since entering the global markets in 1996, we have established the R&D centers in Southeast Asia and China to support continued research and are expanding our global capabilities through partnerships with global feed companies.
We are securing highly value-added and highly cost-effective feed technologies with differentiated R&D centered on customer needs. In particular, we have developed anti-pathogenic materials based on the nutrient design for high-quality livestock products and anti-disease feed and applied them in Korea and other countries. In addition, we have secured cost competitiveness by discovering new raw materials and developing a raw material evaluation technology. We create the best value for our customers with a differentiated processing technology.
Furthermore, we provide the OnlyOne livestock specialty services through improvement of livestock productivity by developing advanced livestock technologies and customized consulting services specific to the livestock and country.
CJ CheilJedang strives to increase the profits of farm households with technology-intensive, value-added products and customized products specific to each livestock. We have developed piglet feed that reduces diarrhea and enhances immunity, efficient growing pig feed, and cattle feed that improves carcass yield and meat features and provides computer program services through differentiated CJ cattle modeling technology. In addition, we developed the world’s first disease- preventing poultry feed that contains bacteriophages and received a good response in the market. Moreover, we strive to meet customized needs optimally by applying new natural materials and pollution- reducing materials to the feed.
We opened the world-class R&D farm featuring the best R&D systems for feed and livestock technology in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province in 2011. The farm has the infrastructure to develop cutting-edge products and conduct competitiveness tests. The facilities provide the platform to create differentiated values for our customers through methodical and scientific technology development for evaluation and application of raw materials used in feed mix design.
